We are currently seeking a Procurement Planning Control Representative who will be responsible for sourcing, procurement and estimating of material, finished goods and services for our Systems Integration business unit tasks and overhead. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining the official documentation and issue files for HII-Fleet Support Group, the customer, and government property for task assigned.

  • Responsible for sourcing, procurement and estimating of material, finished goods and services for SI Tasks and overhead.
  • Processes Form 44's from Purchasing and assures items needed are best cost value while meeting timelines for task execution/schedule.
  • Follows up with managers for added cost approvals or changes with 44's.
  • Provides feedback on orders to Expeditor and Task for tracking and issues that arise.
  • Provides paperwork relating to cost threshold attached to PR's reaching over $10K for corporate management to process.
  • Generates PR to PO for purchase under $10k and generates revisions for all PO's as needed/required.
  • Works with Receiving and Expeditor to follow up on items needing receipt, pick up or if inspections are required, contacts manager for QA directives as well as working with AP department to assist with invoice issues.


What You Must Have

  • Experience/Knowledge in procurement database and material movement within.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Government Federal Acquisition Regulations clauses.
  • Experience in use of Microsoft outlook and excel for use of tracking and maintaining records.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and oral.
  • No experience with Bachelors Degree in related field, or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.


Bonus Points For...

  • Knowledge of the type of commodities and vendors purchased for submarine, ships and surface tasks with respect to contract specifically as Sea Enterprise 2, 3 and 4 as well as SWFTS for HII SI tasks.
  • Good experience in shipping standards and best way options for best value and delivery of items to the tasks. Fedex, UPS and freight company shipping understanding.
  • Experience in Government purchasing as a contractor.


Physical Requirements

May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
