Summary

The future of naval combat systems training is being built, operated, and delivered at HII. HII Technical Solutions is currently seeking an Electronic Warfare subject matter expert for an exciting engineering contract supporting the development of US Navy (USN) shore-based integrated training systems. This position will be based in Virginia Beach, VA.

What you will do

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Apply extensive technical expertise, and have full knowledge of other related disciplines.
• Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's level degree in systems engineering or a technical engineering discipline
• Eighteen (18) years of full-time professional experience in one or more of the following fields: Systems Engineering; or Engineering Design and Development
• Demonstrated experience providing requirements to Trouble Reports (TR) and/or Change Requests (CR) written against failed requirements
• Demonstrated experience reviewing architectures, component functional allocation and flows, interfaces, system processing and performance for Electronic Warfare Navy systems.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating design options and recommend solutions to identified Electronic Warfare Navy systems problems.
• Demonstrated experience providing subject matter Naval Electronic Warfare expertise to develop test plans, test specifications, test reports, and other planning documents
• Demonstrated experience developing procedures to test functional-level and system-level requirements of the Electronic Warfare Training software.
• Demonstrated experience participate in training related test events such as: ACTS/BFTT/ATD and/or Fleet Synthetic Trainer (FST)
• Must have a DoD SECRET security clearance

• Experience working with DoD customers, projects, and processes
• Demonstrated Experience in one or more of the following Naval System areas:
• AEGIS
• US Navy SLQ-32A, SLQ-32B, and/or SLQ-32(V6)

Physical Requirements
Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
