Job Description

Position Summary:

HII-TSD is currently seeking a highly self-motivated Electrical Engineer, Asc Principal to join our Tactical Sensor Systems team in Rome, NY. The Electrical Engineer responsibilities include FPGA, ARM, and other processor platform designs using languages such as VHDL and/or Verilog and/or higher-level design languages such as C/C++/OpenCL or MATLAB/Simulink. The applicant should have experience with Altera and Xilinx development toolsets and be familiar with the latest generations of FPGA and SoC devices such as Zynq RFSoC, MPSoC, SoC and 7-Series/Ultrascale/Ultrascale+ FPGA devices. The position requires the responsibility to design and implement solutions with little guidance or appreciable direction. The applicant must have the ability to develop requirements, review requirements, and develop solutions to meet requirements on a given effort. The applicant should be familiar with implementing complex algorithms and DSP techniques. Successful applicants have the ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems through the use of ingenuity and creativity specifically using VHDL and model-based HDL coder design tools. The applicant should be familiar with and has experience using test equipment such as oscilloscope's, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzer and network analyzers to test, troubleshoot, and validate printed circuit board (PCB) and HDL/software designs.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience, or a Master's degree and 8 years of experience.Strong background in VHDL/Verilog coding and test bench generatio
  • Experience using MATLAB/Simulink
  • A team player with the demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional teams and communicate and coordinate work as one team with common goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, management, and peers.
  • This position supports a U.S. Government contract; per the Executive Order 14042 issued on September 9, 2021, personnel must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to fill this

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with the following:
    • DoD protected wireless communications systems and waveforms
    • MATLAB/Simulink HDL coder
    • C/C++/OpenCL, ARM Processors, and Embedded Hardware
    • RADAR, Electronic Warfare, and/or Wireless Communications.
    • Proven ability to support major milestone reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.).
    • One or more of the following: RF circuits using FPGAs, processors, digital filters, amplifiers, ADCs/DACs, PCB design
    • Interfacing with end customers.
