HII – Mission Driven Innovative Solutions is currently seeking a Data Engineer to work for our customer, located in the Northern Virginia, supporting the modernization, alignment, and integration of Combatant Command and Defense intelligence Enterprise capabilities for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security – OUSD(I&S).

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • The Data Engineer will integrate with cross-functional teams specializing in architecture development, solutions analysis, intelligence functional expertise, JCIDS requirements management, and PPBE documentation informing the development and implementation of Information Technology (IT) business processes, programs, plans and guidance for Defense Intelligence warfighting support to the Combatant Commands and the integration with Mission Partner Environments.
  • Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout data framework/fabric analysis, design and modernization
  • Determines optimum data storage and transfer requirements.
  • Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis techniques and tools to design and develop optimal data frameworks, data fabrics, and/or databases
  • May develops, construct, test and maintain data management framework architectures (such as databases and large-scale processing systems)
  • May model database design, architecture, metadata and repository configuration management.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • United States Citizenship
  • Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI


Preferred Requirements

  • Additional Experience on the following is preferred, but not required:
  • Multiple IC organizations and data sharing security protocols
  • Understanding of coalition intelligence and data sharing program, techniques or methodologies
  • Commonly used cross domain transfer options and technologies
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks, best practices and goals (DoDAF 2.02, Zachman, FEAC, TOGAF, UPDM, or UAF) and/or use of Cameo NoMagic architecture software
  • Previous exposure to or experience with some or all of the relevant capabilities, functions, missions, and processes of the US Defense Combatant Commands, CCMD JIOCs and coalition interoperability
