Job Description
Huntington Ingalls Industries is looking for a Configuration Engineer that will gather requirements, design, codify, integrate and implement secure solutions that support business functionality as well as the underlying infrastructure required to run and deploy those solutions. Develop, document, and implement CI/CD strategy for management of multiple cloud application baselines. Develop, document, and implement container management strategy to include management of container security and automated validation of immutable CI pipeline components for compliance with DoD standards processes. Develop and document shared infrastructure component management strategy to provide consistent standardized container, OS, and application baselines for infrastructure components available through self-service. Identify requirements, develop, document, and implement branching strategy to support change management requirements while automating as much of the deployment process as practical in the CI/CD pipelines. Ability to help lead small teams and projects. This role requires both interpersonal and development skills.

Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or similar.
- Experience working with computer desktop packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- Detail oriented, strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work in a diverse team of software professionals
- Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites. (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github Enterprise, etc.)
- Experience with at least 1 programming language (Java, Python, Ruby, JavaScript...etc.)
- Basic SQL query skills and general understanding of relational databases.
- Experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, Bootstrap, XML, JSON, REST, SOAP.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Information Technology Experience with increasing more responsibilities,
- Experience with DoD documentation deliverables.
- Prior experience in a software development arena is a plus.
