Primary Purpose
The Healthy Communities and Planet (HC&P) Sustainable Products team is responsible for the environmental and social aspects of the 300,000 products the great local brands of Ahold Delhaize USA (ADUSA) offer. Climate (Scope 3), plastics and packaging, animal welfare, sustainable seafood, nature, regenerative agriculture, and human rights are key areas of focus for the team.
We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic, action-driven, and collaborative team orientated individual who wants to work in an entrepreneurial environment to leverage data, internal engagement, and cross-sector collaboration to develop and execute high-value strategic initiatives, partnerships, and our overall US and Group-wide corporate sustainability agenda.

Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC , Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, Hyattsville, MD and Mauldin, SC.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a member of the Healthy Community & Planet Sustainable Products team, an Analyst III works with the broader Sustainability team, AD Group, ADUSA brand teams, and other stakeholders to:
- Support the development and implementation of various sustainability initiatives related to product sustainability which could include ADUSA's Scope 3 reduction roadmap, nature goals, plastics and packaging commitments, human rights policy, sustainable seafood policy, and animal welfare targets, through data gathering/analysis, target setting, progress tracking, strategy development, supplier engagement, and program implementation.
- Provide strategic recommendations for ADUSA brands, by developing supporting analytics for presentations and working with brands to navigate the marketplace in meeting targets.
- Participate in team discussions and share data insights, analysis, viewpoints, and rationale in the development and implementation of sustainable products programs.
- Build and manage analytical tools to provide greater business insights and increase the efficiency of data capture, cleaning, and reporting.
- Cross-functionally help shape successful business plans and strategic decisions through data driven assessment of each brand's current performance and intervention opportunities.
- Provide ad hoc analyses, information, and presentations to help support various aspects of sustainable product sourcing and annual strategic planning, often in partnership ADUSA brands, leadership, and third parties.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders and cross-functional departments on high-value initiatives and strategies, creating business cases, financial models, and key analytics in support of critical work (e.g., market scans, growth strategies, internal performance analyses, supplier reported data).
- Create presentations and briefing documents to help drive work forward and gain alignment on critical issues which often will require the art of storytelling.
- Participate in, and support, ADUSA's engagement in multi-stakeholder initiatives that drive industry-wide change.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics, corporate strategy, sustainability, process execution in grocery retail industry and/or consulting industry preferred. Advanced degrees can be considered as equivelant experience on a case-by-case basis.
- Ability to understand new concepts quickly, self-teach new IT skills, and work in a fast paced dynamic work environment
- Proven ability to drive organization change based on data analysis and recommendations, possessing the ability to quickly analyze data, draw and present conclusions with actionalble steps and measure final outcomes
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, executives and external stakeholders
- Ability to work within tight timelines, deadlines and on multiple projects
- Works well independently with minimal supervision when required
- Comfortable with ambiguity and project-based work, able to bring focus and structure to unique, high-value problems
- Creative, structured, and objective problem solver, both conceptually and analytically
- Collaborative and people-oriented, and comfortable leading without authority
- Dynamic, clear thinker and presenter who can work well with all levels of an organization, including with executives
- Ready to work hard in a fun environment to create tangible change
- Strong sustainability, financial, and business acumen
- Comfort with Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
- Experience managing databases
- Presentation and communication best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Master in Sustainability, Business Administration or Data Analytics preferred
- Proficiency in advanced data analytics tools
ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $75,040 - $112,560
IL/MA/MD/NY Salary Range: $86,320 - $129,480
Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final compensation decisions will be made in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
