About Our Team 

The Agoda Japan Hotel Acquisition Team is dedicated to expanding Agoda’s accommodation offerings across Japan. Our mission is to identify, approach, and onboard new hotel partners, ensuring they are successfully launched and visible on Agoda’s platform. We believe that growing our network of quality hotels is essential to delivering the best possible experience for our customers.

As the first point of contact for potential partners, we act as trusted advisors - sharing market insights, best practices, and innovative solutions to help hotels maximize their success on Agoda. Leveraging Agoda’s industry-leading technology and global expertise, we collaborate closely with both local and international teams to drive growth and create value for our partners, our customers, and Agoda.

The Opportunity

As the Head of Partner Acquisition for Japan, you will lead Agoda Japan’s strategy to effectively acquire new hotel partners and deliver on targets that drive Agoda’s growth. Success in this role requires strong sales and business development capabilities, solid client management experience, and the ability to identify issues and solutions using data. As a people manager, you must have a proven track record of motivating, coaching, and mentoring teams. The ability to build and maintain long-term, high-value partnerships is also essential.

In this Role, you’ll get to

  • Develop strategies to acquire new hotel partners onto the Agoda platform.
  • Drive strong execution by providing direction and motivation, demonstrating exceptional leadership to grow the local business and consistently deliver on plans.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships, including C-suite, to expand partnerships and identify major opportunities.
  • Lead company-wide initiatives involving multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Align with top management on strategic planning and objectives.
  • Strengthen the organization by hiring top talent and supporting recruitment or structural improvements.
  • Conduct market research on industry and Japan-specific trends to ensure Agoda’s competitiveness.
  • Attend and actively participate in key industry events.

What you’ll Need to Succeed

  • More than 12 years of professional experience at multi-national companies.
  • 3+ years’ experience in leading, coaching, and developing teams, with a proven track record in rapidly changing environments.
  • Relevant experience in account management, business development, or general management. Travel industry experience is not required.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate proposals to potential partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker; management consulting experience highly valued.
  • Professional “get it done” attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Resourceful, energetic, and self-driven personality.
  • Ability to move quickly, adapt well to change, and thrive in dynamic environments.
  • Experience in online or e-commerce business preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Japanese is required.
