Andrew Sutherland created Quizlet to study for a high school French test—and after using the program he got 100%. A few of his friends began using Quizlet and found similar success, so he made it public. While studying computer science at MIT he discovered that Quizlet had one million users, so he left school to work on it full-time.
Quizlet believes that learning is more powerful when it’s a shared experience. As one of the leading education tech startups, Quizlet provides users with powerful learning tools that are not only effective, but fun. The company prides itself on being a place where anyone can share knowledge in any subject at any level, and gain confidence as a learner.
“There’s no other company in the ed tech space that goes as deep into the learning experience as Quizlet does for any subject. There are language learning apps, apps for math, or apps for science, but we’re an app for all of that.”
“Quizlet’s mission is to help students practice and master whatever they’re learning. We provide a platform for anyone to create content on Quizlet and then we give them different study games and activities that help them master the material.”
