James’s Story
Making The Rounds
James discovered POLITICO after following the company’s global news and policy updates during the 2008 election. By the time he graduated from college, James was a full-fledged news junkie—but his first few jobs were in higher education. Luckily, an alumni organization steered him to sales, which eventually led to account management—and finally—a spot at POLITICO that fused his interests and skills.

What James Does
Salesforce Administrator
James has one goal—to keep the sales system in tip-top shape so it benefits everyone, from colleagues to end users. He starts by troubleshooting issues for European teams before gathering internal questions and hosting a technical sit-down in the office’s cafe. Once his gang is assembled, James goes over special cases and contract challenges before spreading relevant updates across the organization.
