charity: water operates on a 100% transparency model, in which every dollar donated goes directly to funding water projects. Fittingly, none of the organization’s money is spent on the NYC office—every piece of beautiful art, furniture, and technical infrastructure at the office, as well as every event, has come through donations. A plaque at the office entrance commemorates these donors who’ve helped enable charity: water to spread its mission.
Art Imitating Life
Although charity: water is located in New York City, many miles away from the underdeveloped countries it serves, employees still get the chance to see the people they help every day. Inspiring photos, taken by CEO Scott Harrison and award-wining humanitarian photographer Esther Havens, line the office walls and showcase the projects and people whose lives charity: water’s initiatives are directly changing.
