Your Chances of Being Sent to Voicemail Go Way Down With This App

If you love the tedious process of leaving voicemails, waiting for your contacts to listen to them, and finally getting a call back (at which point you may or may not be available), then don’t keep reading this article.

Because we’ve just discovered the solution to important missed calls: Calltag, an app that lets people know why you’re calling.

How does it work? Say there’s an emergency with a client’s order and you need to reach him immediately. Open up the app, choose his number, and tag your call with “#orderissue” and “#urgent.” Who wouldn’t pick up?

You can either use Calltag’s pre-set tags (#work, #lunch, etc.), make new ones, or add your own defaults. For example, if you’re always calling your colleagues to arrange informal meetings, you’d want to add a #schedulemeeting tag.

This means your important calls will never be accidentally sent to voicemail again. Nor will you ignore people you shouldn’t—or interrupt your focus to pick up when it turns out someone’s calling with a minor problem that can wait.

More good news—you don’t have to make everyone you talk to download Calltag in order to reap the benefits. The app uses existing software on your phone, so as long as you have an Apple or Android device, everyone you call will see the tags.

Download it here, then let us know what you think.
