If you've never attended a hackathon before it can be overwhelming to figure out where to start, how to prep, and what do to while you're there. We rounded up the best tips for before, during, and after so you can reach hackathon success.

So, you've signed up for a hackathon—an event (usually 24-48 hours long) where you put aside your day job to work on a completely new project. Sounds fun right? It is!

But to get the most out of your experience, it's important to go in with an idea, a team, and the right preparation.
