Finding Your Passion (By Accident!)

Meet Lisa. She moved to New York City when she was 22 to pursue a career in (you guessed it!) acting. And while that's not what she ended up doing (surprise!), her career journey would actually make an incredible movie.

While working hard to snag acting gigs, she picked up various temp work on the side to pay the bills. "And, believe it or not," she says, "one of those random little gigs, as a production assistant for a show at NBC, changed my career path forever." It was through this part-time job that she discovered what made her truly happy—creating content. Reminiscing about what it was like to be part of the content world before the digital era, she recalls, "I started working in content before computers, but was an early adopter to technology, and it's been so fascinating to see digital content evolve to what it is now." Fast forward to present day: Lisa is still following her passion of creating content. She's spent the last 30 years working on content strategies for many companies, including some big-name Fortune 500s. Talk about a success story! Her advice to all those who are currently on the path to discovering their career passions? "Always keep learning, increasing your skills, and embracing curiosity." (Share This Wisdom)
