As much as we complain about being over-connected to our phones and under-connected to the people around us, there are merits to living in a world where there’s an app for everything . Even if we’re skilled in managing to-dos, dealing with expenses, and getting through the oh-so-dreaded inbox , there’s always the possibility that, with the help of our smartphones and their trusty apps, we’ll become that much more efficient.
The question, then, isn’t whether you should continue using technology to make your life easier (unless you’re suffering from “text neck” or “inattention blindness” —in which case, please begin your digital detox). It’s how to distinguish useful apps from ones that you download, open once, and never use again.
Thankfully, Adecco did all the research for you and found the 20 best productivity apps on the market. Oh, and don’t forget to share this with your co-workers and your boss—the more productive they are, the more productive you can be, too.

A board member of Columbia Organization of Rising Entrepreneurs, Kat is either hosting inspiring founders or trekking across cities (Silicon Valley and London, anyone?) to discover the hottest startups. And, when she’s not putting together large-group gatherings for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Kat is planning food excursions to discover the best Taiwanese beef noodle soup in NYC. The only thing she loves almost as much as crafting content as an Editorial Intern at The Muse is studying content as an English Major at Columbia University.
