"I can succeed as a Data Product Manager Lead at Capital Group"As a Data Product Manager Lead at Capital Group, you will define and drive the vision for enterprise data products that are reusable, trusted, easy to access, scalable, and secure. You will turn our data into products that directly impact our business, our associates, and our clients - owning the full product lifecycle from discovery through launch and ongoing operation.
You will be the voice of the customer within our data and engineering organization, and the "glue" that holds a cross-functional product team together - fostering tight partnership and joint problem-solving across data engineering, data platform engineering, data operations, line-of-business partners (data owners, stewards, and SMEs), enterprise architecture, information security, and Enterprise Data Governance.
What You'll DoDrive AI forward. In a rapidly developing AI landscape, help advocate, manage, and implement the value-driven use of AI across both the products we build and how we build them - especially as product, data, and engineering roles converge.
Define the vision and own the roadmap. Within a specific domain, define and drive the vision for enterprise data products in alignment with our enterprise data strategy. Own the gathering and documentation of customer needs - data requirements, transformation logic, data models, SLAs, data quality expectations, and lineage from source to consumer - and own roadmaps that solve those needs, making trade-off decisions that balance business outcomes, debt, risk, capacity, and data strategy.
Deliver and operate across the lifecycle. Lead product planning, delivery, and launch with clear priorities and well-managed customer expectations, ensuring end-to-end data risks are mitigated and operations are ready to support. Once live, monitor feedback, define the OKRs and KPIs that track product health, and continuously improve - growing utilization, optimizing cost, and feeding learnings back into planning.
Be our regional expert in the UK/EU. Be the data product team's representative in the region - championing our work to business partners while bringing the voice of the customer back to the team. You'll represent the unique needs of our regional partners and collaborate closely with the North America team to balance distinct regional requirements with the strategic direction of our global data products.
Lead and grow the team. This is a people leadership role. You will build and manage a team of data product managers and analysts - attracting talent and making strong hiring decisions, onboarding new members around a shared product vision, setting goals, and providing regular coaching and feedback that grows both functional skill and leadership capability. You'll manage performance, cultivate a team culture aligned with our principles, and foster expertise in data analysis, data quality, and data automation.
"I am the person Capital Group is looking for"- Brings a modern, AI-forward approach to the craft. You're fluent in product practice end to end and instinctively look for ways AI can sharpen how the team works, helping others adopt it in practical, value-driven ways.
- Leads by example and lifts the team. An experienced people manager, you hire, coach, set goals, and manage performance - growing both the functional skill and leadership capability of your people. You build trust across engineering, operations, governance, and business partners.
- Gets things done and makes decisions. You're a strong individual contributor who's willing to get hands-on, fill gaps, and see the work through - comfortable making the call and moving forward in ambiguity.
- Brings deep expertise in enterprise data products. You understand what makes data reusable, trusted, accessible, scalable, and secure, and you can define data requirements end to end. You bring strong attention to detail and expert-level proficiency with SQL (or modern scripting languages) and data analysis and visualization tools.
- Has strong business acumen. You understand financial services and investment management well enough to spot opportunities for data-driven product improvements and translate them into business outcomes.
- Works confidently across regions. You can represent UK/EU partners, champion their needs, and collaborate with globally distributed teams to balance regional requirements against a global strategy. You communicate clearly and proactively across technical, non-technical, and executive audiences.
