• Drive product architecture, system layout, and detailed design decisions while balancing performance, manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, and cost objectives.
• Own the mechanical design of assigned products, making engineering decisions based on analysis, testing, DFx principles, cost targets, and cross-functional input.
• Develop mechanical systems and components such as metal frames, sheet metal enclosures, electrical bus bars, and wiring harnesses using 3D CAD, engineering analysis, prototype validation, and product testing to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews in multiple domains (structural, thermal, and electrical), mentorship, and application of engineering best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support prototype builds, verification and validation testing, customer deployments, and regulatory certification activities, including UL compliance.
• Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes, tools, and test methodologies to enhance product quality, efficiency, and speed to market.

Qualifications:

• Experience with engineering analysis and simulation processes in both structural and thermal domains
• Experience with multiple DFx methodologies (ex: Manufacturing, Assembly, Six Sigma)
• Strong technical knowledge of sheet metal part design and expertise in thermal/stress analysis.
• Experience designing products to meet UL/CSA safety requirements and working with UL/CSA for certification.

Skills:

• Problem Solving - Applies sound engineering principles and analytical thinking to solve complex technical problems. Investigates root causes, evaluates alternatives, and develops practical solutions that balance performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and schedule requirements.
