Responsibilities

The Consumer & Business Communications team helps users, media, creators, advertisers, and other partners understand TikTok's products, businesses, and communities. Our work spans e-commerce, creators and content, business-to-business services, music, monetization, enterprise products, and consumer communications.

Each area brings different audiences, market contexts, and communications needs. We partner with business teams early to shape launches and narratives, anticipate questions and potential issues, and turn complex product and business developments into clear, relevant communications. We also connect local insights and successes with broader stories while maintaining coherence across markets and channels.

You will collaborate with business, product, sales, and regional teams across a varied portfolio of products and services. This creates opportunities to influence communications from strategy through execution, develop a deep understanding of emerging business areas, and contribute to how audiences around the world understand TikTok.

This role sits within the Global Communications team and partners closely with TikTok Shop Operations, Business and Product teams in Germany, as well as Legal and Policy partners. The team is responsible for building clear local narratives, supporting market expansion, and helping the business communicate with confidence as TikTok Shop grows in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.

This is a market-facing communications role with a defined country scope. The person in role will own day-to-day communications work for Germany, Austria + NL, advise local partners on messaging and external issues, and help shape how TikTok Shop is understood by media, sellers, creators and buyers.

What you'll do
- Own communications support for TikTok Shop in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands across a defined set of market priorities, and serve as a day-to-day communications partner for local operations and business teams.
- Develop clear, audience-specific narratives and messaging for the three markets that support business priorities and reflect local market context.
- Manage communications projects from planning through execution, including product moments, partnership announcements, seasonal campaigns and issue response.
- Build and maintain relationships with national, business and trade media; handle routine inbound requests independently and support proactive media engagement.
- Work with DACH + NL market communications leads on media strategy, inquiries and reputational issues, escalating where needed and contributing to a coordinated market response.
- Review German-language external materials, including seller communications, presentations, promotional messaging and operational updates, for clarity, consistency and reputational risk.
- Track media sentiment, market trends and developing public narratives relevant to e-commerce, and translate those signals into practical guidance for internal teams.
- Prepare spokespeople and subject-matter experts for interviews, briefings and events, with clear messaging and strong on-the-ground support.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Operations, Product, Creator Partnerships, Policy and Legal to keep messaging aligned and ensure communications risks and opportunities are surfaced early.
- Contribute to issue management for routine reputational matters in DACH + NL, using sound judgment, clear escalation and steady execution.
