Lead Systems Ops Engineer - Technology Major Incident Management

Today Charlotte, NC

About this role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Operations Engineer to join Technology Major Incident Management (TMIM) to take on a mission-critical role that safeguards resilience, reliability, and trust at a global scale. As our Lead Systems Operations Engineer, you will lead coordinated responses to high-priority production incidents-driving swift resolution, clear stakeholder communications, and continuous improvement across complex, enterprise systems.

In this role, you will command incident bridges for events with reputational, regulatory, compliance, customer, or business impact; orchestrate cross-functional efforts with Incident Communicators, Platform, and Business teams; and provide deep technical leadership across large-scale applications, systems, and databases. You will also identify process improvements and automation opportunities that reduce Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) and lower human-intervention time, elevating service stability and customer satisfaction across our global platforms.

If you're energized by leading under pressure, influencing outcomes across diverse engineering domains, and setting the bar for operational excellence, we invite you to make your impact here.

In this role, you will:

  • Solve complex challenges by reviewing and analyzing escalated technical issues tied to core business solutions, requiring deep evaluation of alternatives, enhancements, and system improvements
  • Drive technical decisions on changes and enhancements that influence the stability and scalability of global operations
  • Partner with engineering leaders to design and implement change strategies aligned with rigorous technical standards and process controls
  • Collaborate across the enterprise with technical peers and senior managers to resolve critical systems support issues and achieve strategic goals
  • Lead transformative initiatives with broad impact, providing strategic systems consultation to technology teams across the enterprise
  • Shape the future of infrastructure by participating in large-scale planning for computer systems and network architecture within the Systems Operations domain
Required qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education
  • 3 + years of experience in Major Incident Management and recovery strategies and customer impact mitigation
Desired qualifications:
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders in a global enterprise environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating virtual, enterprise-level meetings for production events
  • ServiceNow or incident management tools experience
Job Expectations:
  • Open to work in flexible hours, on call support in a 24x7 command center environment
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
Posting End Date:
31 Dec 2025
*Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.
