Principal Finance Business Partner, Korea
Overview
Waters has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to provide business partnership, financial insights and analysis to support South Korea in our APAC organization. This position is a member of the APAC Finance Senior Leadership team, reporting to the Head of Finance, APAC.
Based in Gwangmyeong, South Korea, the Finance Business Partner will also be a pivotal member of the Korea Management Team, co-piloting the business with the commercial leader and supporting the commercial organization across the country.
The successful candidate should be committed to international mobility in order to take advantage of career progression opportunities in both Finance and in the Commercial organization, that may require relocation.
Responsibilities
- Business Partnering: The role actively contributes to the region growing the business profitably. Owns the performance management process from strategic regional priorities setting, to budgeting, forecasting, variance and trend analysis. Drives long term strategic planning, assessing business potential and transformation. Delivers strong financial support on strategic ad-hoc studies (partnership, business case, investment scenarios). Key focus on KPI's, deep dive into business drivers, provide guidance, challenge plans, offer solutions, and ensure full buy-in of regional management. Ensures effective communication and understanding of the financial & business performance and drive accordingly the decision-making process (corrective plans).
- Finance Excellence: work closely with the APAC Accounting team on the Monthly and Quarterly Close, as well as ensuring a robust control and compliance environment is in place across all countries. Work closely with APAC HQ team on regular reporting and analysis.
- Finance Transformation: support regional and global efforts to harmonize processes and procedures, implement new tools, including RPA and other automation tools.
- Leadership: participate as a member of the APAC Finance Leadership team, actively engaging to drive harmonization of processes across the region, and to help build an organization that successfully partners with the business in helping to meet our strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
- MBA or professional level Accounting qualification preferred.
Experience:
- 8+ years' experience, of which 3+ years' working in a commercial Finance role in a large organization, ideally in Life Sciences, or an Industrial or FMCG environment.
- Experience partnering with commercial organizations, with a deep understanding of the priorities, levers and dependencies of those teams.
- Past experience in a fast-paced environment, ability to adapt and deal with ambiguity.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and other business software.
- Experience of working within a diverse cultural setting.
