Cost Accounting Manager

Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Cost Accounting Manager who will be responsible for the development, management, analysis and reporting of standard costing in SAP for Waters on a global basis.

Responsibilities

  • Work with procurement, planning, and manufacturing operations departments on the development, implementation and ongoing analysis of proper SAP material master data, product costing module configurations, BOM's and routings
  • Manage the annual cost roll process and actively collaborate with stakeholders in cross-functional departments to drive expected results and maintain compliance with internal controls
  • Work with consultants toward an improved, scalable product costing model in SAP ECC bridged to S4 that enables rapid integration of plants and new product groups
  • Manage and participate in the testing associated with material and costing data for implementation projects and corporate acquisitions
  • Provide support for year-end costing activities - release of standard costs, transfer pricing updates, and inventory revaluation
  • Serve as subject-matter-expert on various cross-functional project teams across the business to translate how business process changes could impact the P&L and inventory valuation
  • Assess current costing processes and help to define and enforce internal controls and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for managing the roles and development of two team members, and for providing guidance to other Waters employees involved in costing

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of experience in Cost Accounting, preferably within a publicly traded manufacturing company
  • Experience analyzing production-related credits and variances, including Absorption, Material Burden, PPV, and Production Variance
  • Strong hands-on SAP functional configuration experience
  • Management experience a plus
  • Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to constructively interact with a variety of business partners and ERP counterparties
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Advanced Excel, data analysis, SAP ECC/S4 Hana, Analysis for Office, Power BI experience strongly preferred
