Your New Role:
Are you passionate about connecting people, process, and technology to create magic behind the scenes? As a Technical Product Owner , you'll sit at the centre of Warner Bros. Discovery's retail technology universe-helping our teams bring amazing customer experiences to life. The role will report to the Senior Director Retail Experiences Technology and will be based out of Leavesden Park, Watford.
This role blends technology coordination, enablement, and communication. You'll make sure our global retail platforms (like Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, SAP, Amazon, Adyen) run smoothly, are adopted effectively, and empower our engineering and business teams to do their best work. Think of yourself as part tech translator, part digital enabler, and part conductor of a beautifully orchestrated technology symphony.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Technology Enablement & Adoption
- Lead the enablement and coordination of retail technology platforms - particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 and integrated systems (SAP, Amazon, Adyen and 3PL providers).
- Champion the effective use of tools across retail engineering (Azure DevOps, Git Repos, Asana, QA automation and beyond).
- Create engaging enablement strategies, training materials and self-service guides that empower our teams to make the most of their tools.
- Maintain knowledge bases, wikis and documentation that support smooth adoption and continuous learning.
Governance & Operational Oversight
- Ensure our operations comply with internal and external requirements, including PCI-DSS, legal, procurement and Technology & Operations policies.
- Collaborate closely with Cyber Security, Legal, Procurement and People & Culture to align engineering operations with company standards.
- Implement and uphold governance processes across the retail technology lifecycle and roadmap delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communications
- Act as the key communications link between retail engineering and the wider business - turning technical updates into clear, meaningful stories.
- Promote the engineering roadmap through regular Asana updates, newsletters and cross-team communications.
- Coordinate release updates, programme messaging and service reviews to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Support executive communications and reporting to ensure visibility of engineering progress and performance.
Engineering Onboarding & Resource Readiness
- Own the onboarding process for internal and external team members, ensuring new joiners have timely access to tools, systems and documentation.
- Manage role-based upskilling and maintain close relationships with Microsoft for training credits, certifications and materials.
- Track engineering headcount and financial forecasts, contributing to retail portfolio business case development working alongside Project Management and Business Analysis teams.
- Act as a first-line reviewer and challenger of cost estimates and vendor proposals within the retail technology space.
Vendor & Procurement Coordination
- Partner with Procurement and vendor management teams to oversee investments in Microsoft and other third-party platforms, licences and renewals.
- Coordinate CapEx tracking, purchase order management, invoice reviews and vendor deliverables throughout their lifecycle.
- Liaise with external partners to align service delivery, enhancements and integrations with the engineering roadmap.
- Support OpEx estimation and financial processes within the retail engineering domain.
Managed Service Oversight
- Lead monthly Delivery Partner / Vendor service reviews, tracking vendor performance, SLAs and continuous improvement actions to ensure a consistent and reliable technology service is delivered into the Retail business.
- Monitor support spend and recommend optimisations to improve value, performance and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experiences:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business, or a related field.
- Up to 5 years' experience in technology enablement, coordination or IT business operations.
- Hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications in a retail or omnichannel environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Third Party SaaS applications and collaboration tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for business audiences.
Desirable:
- Experience with Agile delivery frameworks and tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with procurement and financial management processes (CapEx and OpEx).
- Exposure to large-scale retail, supply chain or commerce transformation programmes.
- Experience working across end-to-end delivery environments.
