Your New Role
The Senior Accountant - Consolidations will be a part of the team responsible for performing the global consolidation and financial reporting of the Company, facilitating the close of the accounting books, and generating financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, and compiling information for other governmental reporting requests.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Assists with the preparation of the company's financial statements and reporting (balance sheet, income statement, etc.), including internal, external (SEC Filings, census), and joint venture reporting
- Facilitates corporate accounting close through process excellence and use of systems and automation
- Prepares consolidation journal entries, system reconciliations, and other ad hoc requests as necessary on a timely and accurate basis.
- Provides audit and other documentation as requested from internal and external auditors (including SOX controls), tax, financial planning and analysis, etc.
- Coordinate with accounting teams around the world
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed
Qualifications & Experience
Work Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience and a strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), IFRS, and SOX requirements
- Experience with the preparation of financial statements
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
- BS/BA in related discipline from an accredited university
- CPA license (or equivalent) attained or progress toward attainment.
- Proficient in English
Knowledge/Skills
- Detailed-oriented with a strong desire to meet deadlines and other relevant performance metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Mental agility to prioritize and execute independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent work habits, including initiative, independent problem-solving abilities and ownership of work product.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Other Requirements
Preferred experience:
- Big 4 / Public accounting background
- Experience with the financial consolidation of an SEC registrant
- Experience working directly with external auditors to resolve complex accounting and reporting issues
- Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP
