Job Description

This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Head of Product & Solutions, AUNZPI. The Senior Director is responsible for setting the strategic direction for Credit, Debit, and Prepaid products, as well as driving performance, and ensuring Visa’s preference in the market by acquirers and merchants. The role requires strong client relationships, deep market knowledge, and the ability to influence regional and global product strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Core Product team across multiple markets.
  • Develop and execute product strategies, balancing customer trends, regulatory changes, and client priorities.
  • Drive benchmarking and portfolio optimization across Visa clients, synthesize results and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Lead the growth of strategically important products in cross border, affluent and mass-market segments.
  • Lead the expansion into less penetrated merchant verticals, new payment flows and frontier markets.
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with key clients, represent Visa at forums and discovery days with stakeholders from Executives to Product Managers.
  • Provide insights and reporting on portfolio performance, identify future impacts and issues affecting Visa’s products and revenues.
  • Apply analytical expertise to inform data driven decision-making, including planning, rule application and interchange management.
  • Oversee product changes and go-to-market delivery, manage rules and waiver processes that impact both issuing and seller-side of the payment ecosystem.
  • Lead the continual review and evolution of Visa’s rules and product requirements to ensure they are relevant and support our clients.
  • Collaborate with local, regional, and global teams to shape product strategy and influence global product development.
  • Manage operational expenses and lead research and insights supporting product growth.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including Value Added Services.
  • Ensure alignment and collaboration across the team to support the interests of issuing and acquiring capabilities.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

  • AI-first mindset and curiosity to expand Gen-AI adoption within the team.
  • Authentic leadership focused on personal development and team growth.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, 10+ years of product or portfolio management experience.
  • Deep understanding of consumer payments, transaction banking, lending, and credit markets.
  • Strong grasp of the regulatory framework in Australia and New Zealand for payments and lending.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to adapt to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical skills to identify trends and deliver actionable insights.
  • Proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving initiatives.
  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and psychological safety in the workplace.
