About the Role

The fundamental goal of Product Operations is to maximize the value ensure we create the right products to move our business forward. To achieve this goal, we work closely with cross-functional partners across Operations, Marketing, Product and many more, to identify and prioritize new business needs/opportunities, rollout new products or iterate existing ones products.

Our group of product teams build a diverse array of products to serve a wide range of customers - everything from drivers, couriers, riders and eaters - you name it!

The S&P Product Operations Manager will be a trusted advisor to Mobility & Delivery (MAD) Product leadership, serving as the cross-functional coordination point and owner for MAD Product Strategic Projects, executive communication, performance reporting, and half-, annual- and long-range planning. A successful candidate will have a strategic and influential role on how Product thinks about, plans, measures, improves, and communicates its impact on Uber, and will find opportunities to increase the efficiency and value of Product's reporting cadence, structure, and material.

The role will work with a wide range of global and regional partners across the Product organization, including but not limited to Product Leadership, Product Operations Managers, and cross-functional teams like Engineering and Finance. This person must have strong attention to detail, organizational and program management skills, an ability to influence without explicit authority, and experience managing executive partners. Furthermore this person should have experience influencing and designing clear executive communication, facilitating global planning processes, managing a team, and fostering productive cross-functional relationships.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  • Lead strategic initiatives across the Tech organization to drive org-wide efficiencies across the Product Development Lifecycle as well as directly owning strategic initiatives.
  • Program manage the Tech-wide bi-annual and long-range financial and operational planning processes.
  • Work with Product LT and Product Operations team to facilitate reporting of Tech performance metrics to Uber's Executive Leadership.
  • Strategically assess and influence the development of each Product team's monthly reporting cadence, structure, and material to the Product LT.
  • Build a plan to continuously improve the return on investment of executive communication and meetings.
  • Drive strategic agenda development and executive storytelling across Product internal executive communication and communication to leaders across Uber, including the ELT.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in fields such as strategy, finance, or consulting
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, with a bias for action and an ownership mentality
  • Strong organization and project management skills, including ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects and processes simultaneously independently
  • Demonstrated experience in building relationships with cross-functional partners and anticipating their concerns
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience leading meetings and presentations with senior leaders
  • Track record of driving strategic insights and tying strategy work to specific business goals; experience with competitive strategy a plus
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience assessing, improving, and independently running strategic budget & operational planning processes for high-growth businesses.
  • Ability to build and communicate frameworks for driving global cross-functional decision-making using data and principled assumptions.
  • Excellent organizational and program management skills.
  • Ability to build and complete interdependent timelines.
  • Experience with Chief of Staff / Program Management Office / executive communications, and the attention to detail required to be successful in those capacities.
  • Excellent written and verbal executive communication skills, including advanced analytical & presentation skills; e.g. Excel / Google Sheets, PowerPoint / Google Slides, etc.
  • Exposure to product or operations, including a solid understanding of standard business and product metrics.
  • MBA or PMP.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$155,000 per year - USD$172,000 per year.
