It is essential to Uber Eats success today and in the future for Restaurants to have a great experience using our platform. From Support, to Commercial support, Growth opportunities and Consumer insights, Uber Eats aspires to be the most trusted partner for restaurants globally. The Global Restaurant Strategy team will be the voice of Restaurants in our business from the largest global Merchant to the local neighbourhood favourite. This team will work with Ops, CommOps, Commercial and Tech teams to build the best platform for restaurant growth and experience today and tomorrow globally.

The team will focus on ensuring every step of the Restaurant experience meets our high bar for experience - from onboarding, growth, support, and retention, on our Marketplace as well as via our 1P solutions. The team will partner to build an aspirational global strategy to make Uber Eats the platform of choice today and to shape our path to long term future growth.

About the Role

As the Head of Global Restaurant Strategy, you will shape the future of how restaurants experience Uber Eats. You'll define the vision, strategy, and operational playbook for restaurants globally. From how we engage our most strategic enterprise partners to how we help brand new SMBs onboard and thrive early on in their journey with Uber Eats. You will work closely with the broad set of stakeholders in developing and executing our strategy, including Regional and Country Operations teams, Sales Ops, Sales and Account Managers, CommOps, Marketing and Tech. This role combines strategic leadership, cross-functional execution, and a customer-centric approach. You'll be the voice of our restaurant partners in global decision-making, driving measurable improvements in restaurant NPS, retention, and growth.

What You'll Do

Restaurant Foundations & NPS

  • Define and evolve the global standards for restaurant experience excellence across every stage of the merchant lifecycle
  • Build and own the measurement system for merchant sentiment (NPS, retention, health

    metrics), driving consistent improvement across all regions
  • Partner with Product, Support, Commercial, and Ops leaders to remove friction and deliver a world-class partner experience

Restaurant Strategy & Insights

  • Develop the long-term strategic roadmap for restaurant success, balancing platform economics, merchant growth, and customer outcomes
  • Translate market and partner insights into actionable priorities for product, policy, and operations
  • Serve as the central thought partner to regional restaurant and commercial leads, as well as the Delivery LT, on category and competitive dynamics

Restaurant Early Lifecycle & Onboarding

  • Reimagine the onboarding journey for new restaurants - from first contact to first order -ensuring speed, simplicity, and satisfaction
  • Establish global playbooks and tooling that scale onboarding efficiency and quality across markets
  • Partner with regional teams to test, measure, and iterate on interventions that accelerate early lifecycle in conversion

Restaurant Growth

  • Define and execute global frameworks that drive restaurant sales growth, optimize menus, and enhance campaign performance
  • Partner with Regional and Global teams to identify scalable levers that improve retention and expand share of wallet
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that unlock restaurant productivity and profitability
  • Develop strategy for where in the Restaurant eco-system Uber should play to continue to build our value to Restaurant partners - from Marketplace, Direct, 1P demand, Dine Out, Reservations and broader Merchant Tech

Restaurant Economics

  • Own the global economic model for restaurants - defining the principles for pricing, incentives, and profitability
  • Partner with Finance and Strategy to align restaurant value creation with Uber's margin and growth objectives
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform sustainable, mutually beneficial economic strategies across segments

Integrations & Partner Tech

  • Oversee the strategy for global partner integrations and restaurant technology enablement
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure that POS, menu, and order management

    systems deliver seamless connectivity and performance
  • Champion the merchant tech roadmap to enhance efficiency and reliability for enterprise and SMB partners

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in strategy, operations, customer experience, or partnerships, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles managing global or regional teams
  • Proven ability to translate customer insights into scalable strategy and execution
  • Strong cross-functional influence and stakeholder management skills across Product, Tech, and Commercial functions
  • Data-driven decision maker with deep analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in marketplace, food delivery, or hospitality industries.

    Demonstrated success leading global programs that improved customer/partner satisfaction and retention
  • Track record of influencing C-level stakeholders and driving change in matrixed environments
  • Exceptional storytelling skills - able to simplify complexity and drive alignment at the executive level
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$221,000 per year - USD$245,500 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$221,000 per year - USD$245,500 per year.
