Who we're looking for
Toyota's Body PE Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Body Engineer with the Planning Digital Twin Team. Digital Twin team is responsible for updating and maintaining Body Weld Digital Factory models in Delmia/C3 and performing Body Logistics simulations using Flex Sim software within the Auto Desk platform.

The primary responsibility of this role is to generate & facilitate outputs of the Body PE Planning Digital Twin Team for all North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMC's).
Reporting to the Body PE Planning Digital Twin Team Manager, the person in this role will support the Body PE department's objective to provide updated Digital factory 3D models in Delmia/C3 for all Body Weld manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost and Compliance, while continuously improving our team's capabilities.
What you'll be doing
- Develop countermeasures or direction proposals and distill critical decision points to evaluate only necessary judgment criteria, ensure criteria align with strategic goals of the project/organization, and lead communication with correct stakeholders
- Use Delmia (C3) tools to update 3D process files that represent the floor condition of Body Weld production processes in order to make future model planning and study accurate and efficient
- Support Body Weld 2D AutoCAD drawing updates for accuracy
- Collaborate with PE and manufacturing stakeholders to develop process plans and assure quality
- Collaborate with TMC counterparts to coordinate study and problem-solving efforts.
- Support the Manager as a technical resource within your team
- Support the Manager with tracking and achievement of KPI
- Contribute to business process kaizen and standardization efforts within Body PE Group
- Take on challenging assignments in pursuit of ever-better cars
- Support field investigations and laser scanning at all NAMCs
- Support data collection for Logistics Simulation study database building
- Work location Production Engineering Manufacturing Center (PEMC, Georgetown, KY)
- Track and manage KPI for self and team - evaluating progress during multiple design iterations
- Perform body manufacturing feasibility studies and option comparisons
- Coordination and coaching project Simultaneous Engineering team through design evaluation phases and machine specification readiness for handover
- Develop/execute Body PE operation plans / project phase schedules and guide engineering team to do the same
- Provide overall technical leadership of structure and process planning for the assigned body area
- Work with other Toyota entities to resolve Digital Factory discrepancies
- Analyze problem areas to develop timely countermeasures and implement
- Responsible for management level report out on project status as needed

What you bring
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering or 5 years of equivalent technical work
- Project experience with automated / robotic process equipment
- General vehicle body structure & processing knowledge
- Catia , Delmia, or Carrot3 / Delmia experience
- AutoCAD experience including the ability to create / modify a layout and read, interpret, modify 2D drawings
- Experience identifying opportunities for improvement, investigating root causes, and developing countermeasures
- Experience creating decision matrices ensuring critical decision points are included in criteria
- Willing to work weekends, holiday periods, and shutdown periods to support project urgencies
- Willing to work 20% overtime including weekends, holiday periods, and shutdown periods to support Body PE Digital Twin team work
- Willing to travel up to 20% to support work at Toyota Body Weld Manufacturing locations
- Willing to work evenings to support/attend meetings with overseas business partners
- A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position
Added bonus
- Toyota Body PE Engineering experience
- Advanced Engineering Degree
- TBP completion through panel
- ICT experience
- Experience in another manufacturing discipline (Stamping, Paint, Assembly, etc.)
- New model Body shop production preparation and/or Body design experience
- 2+ years in Body SE or Planning Experience
- 2+ years in Body PE Process Engineering group
- JKK completion
