Frontend Software Engineer (Payment) - TikTok Live - Singapore - TikTok Global Live
Responsibilities
The TikTok Global Live R&D team builds and maintains the products behind TikTok's live streaming business. Our work spans social interaction, monetization activities, the creator ecosystem, subscription services, game streaming, and guild and operations platforms, supporting the product's rapid growth in global markets.
Behind those products sit hard technical problems in service architecture, large model algorithms, and foundation technologies. Solving them keeps a fast-growing business reliable, efficient, and secure. At the same time, each business scenario needs technical solutions built for its own demands.
You will work alongside a strong team on problems that move real product metrics and user experience, where every line of code you write reaches hundreds of millions of users.
TikTok Money Platform builds the payment and financial infrastructure behind TikTok's monetization. When a user tops up coins, subscribes, or pays through Web Checkout, and when a creator withdraws their earnings, the money moves through our systems. As part of TikTok LIVE, we serve LIVE gifting, subscriptions, creator and developer rewards, and a growing set of new monetization businesses across TikTok, in markets around the world.
The platform covers the full money journey: merchant onboarding and product listing, pay-in (in-app purchases, web payments, subscriptions, refunds), accounts and ledger, settlement, tax and invoicing, payout, and the TikTok Wallet. Our goal is to let any business at TikTok launch payments quickly and safely without building its own payment infrastructure, whether it integrates through Open APIs, SDKs and components, hosted pages, configuration, or ready-made standard solutions.
Our engineering team owns the consumer-facing and merchant-facing products on this platform, along with the BFF services behind them. The work spans two very different worlds: high-traffic, performance-critical consumer flows such as the Wallet, top-up and Web Checkout, and B2B platform products such as the merchant portal, listing, payout and tax tools. We are moving toward a full-stack model, and we build AI agents into how we develop and ship.

1. Develop web applications for TikTok Wallet and Money Platform, ensuring a secure, stable, and efficient payment experience.
2. Deliver consistent, reliable experiences across iOS and Android WebViews, hybrid containers, mobile web and desktop browsers.

3. Own performance and conversion end-to-end, including load success rate, FMP, LCP/INP and payment funnel conversion: find the bottleneck, ship the fix, and prove the impact with data and A/B experiments.
4. Keep payment flows secure and stable through careful handling of payment data, fault tolerance, monitoring and alerting, and fast incident response.
5. Improve the frontend infrastructure behind these products, such as SSR, WebView pre-rendering, shared components, and build and release pipelines.
6. Work with product, design, backend and client teams across regions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Solid frontend development experience, with deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and React or another mainstream framework.
- A proven track record of performance optimization in high-traffic consumer products, with a solid understanding of browser rendering, networking and Core Web Vitals.
- Experience with hybrid/WebView development and with cross-platform compatibility across iOS, Android and desktop browsers.
- Data-driven: comfortable defining metrics, running A/B experiments, and tying engineering work to business outcomes such as conversion.
- Good written and spoken English for cross-regional collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with payments, checkout, e-commerce or fintech products.
- Experience with WebView performance techniques such as pre-rendering and offline packages.
- Experience in multi-end (Native/PC/Server) development.
- Experience leading large cross-team projects or contributing to open source.
- Experience writing tech articles or tech blogs.
