What's this role about?
The Governance team builds a thriving, safe, and fair marketplace ecosystem on TikTok Shop - shaping the policies, programs, and risk controls that help sellers and creators grow responsibly. As a Governance Intern, you'll work on real projects with the [Region] team and get first-hand exposure to how a global platform designs and enforces its rules at scale, including with AI.
Examples of what you'll work on:
- Assist in research on market regulations, industry practices, and emerging risks.
- Support data checks and analysis to monitor governance metrics and identify trends or root causes
- Help review real cases to surface insights that inform policy and enforcement improvements
- Support AI-assisted governance workflows: e.g. helping test prompts and evaluate the quality of AI-assisted outcomes
- Help prepare documentation, reporting, and cross-team communication for governance programs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Law/Public Policy, or related fields.
- Able to commit to a full-time internship of at least 3 months (please state your availability in your resume)
- Professional proficiency in English and Spanish
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with data
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Comfort using AI tools in daily work is a plus; SQL/Python is a plus
