Asset Management Specialist - Data Centre Logistics
Responsibilities
Role Overview
The Asset Management Specialist / Data Centre Logistics is responsible for managing IT hardware assets and logistics operations within the Data Centre. This role ensures accurate inventory control, efficient handling of inbound and outbound shipments, and proper documentation of all asset movements. The specialist will support business continuity by maintaining asset accuracy, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and providing reliable logistics support across multiple data centre sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and unpack incoming goods; sign for packages; prepare computer kits for distribution; update inventory records; count boxes; and perform basic troubleshooting on defective goods (RMA).
- Operate and maintain manual and electronic documentation, including shipping accounts, barcoding, inventory records, monthly reports, electronic delivery logs, and incoming shipment records to ensure proper documentation and reliable information tracking.
- Utilize asset management tools such as barcode and PDA scanners to perform inventory operations.
- Deliver consistent customer service with attention to detail, timely task completion, and efficient workflow management.
- Maintain a detailed and accurate log of all items shipped, received, or moved within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Manage on-site assets and collaborate with cross-functional teams including technicians, engineers, and operations staff to ensure smooth workflows, resolve logistics-related issues, and support project delivery.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings as required, providing updates on inventory status, logistics planning, and asset availability; perform other related duties as assigned to support team effectiveness.

- High School Diploma or Leaving Cert (required as minimum).

- 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, supply chain management, inventory control, retail, or a related field within an information technology (IT) environment, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Good communication skills and strong learning agility.
Preferred Qualification(s)
- Associate degree or above.
- Ability to operate heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks, chassis lifts).
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams in a data centre or IT infrastructure environment.
