Job Description:
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to lead the adoption and advancement of test automation across Retail Distribution IT product delivery teams. This role provides technical leadership in designing, implementing, and governing test automation and performance testing strategies to ensure top-notch quality for all business releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop robust quality delivery processes for diverse technology stacks, integrating with DevSecOps practices.
- Lead technical design discussions, author solution designs, and develop automation and performance/load testing scripts for web, desktop, mainframe, REST services, and Pub/Sub models.
- Align automation strategies with enterprise standards, collaborating with Enterprise Architecture, DevOps, and product teams.
- Design and implement automation frameworks using Java and open-source tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, RestAssured, Appium (experience with TOSCA is a plus).
- Design and implement performance and load testing using LoadRunner, JMeter, and NeoLoad.
- Automate end-to-end integration flows involving messaging systems, microservices, mainframes, and SAS applications.
- Drive Enterprise Test Data Management initiatives.
- Establish best practices, methodologies, and standards for test automation, identifying gaps and driving continuous improvement.
- Provide governance, training, and mentorship to delivery teams for effective utilization of automation tools.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years in IT, with 8+ years in test automation and development using open-source frameworks (Selenium, Java, TestNG, Cucumber, RestAssured, SOAPUI, SQL) and 5+ years in TDD, BDD, ATDD frameworks.
- 3+ years in performance testing (NeoLoad, JMeter).
- Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level test automation strategies, frameworks, and governance models.
- Strong experience with CI/CD integration (Jenkins), cloud technologies (Azure), version control (Git, Bitbucket), and test data management.
- Excellent leadership, consulting, and mentoring abilities with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Additional Competencies
- Good understanding of SAFe Agile Framework.
- Experience in TOSCA.
- Ability to manage changing priorities, influence stakeholders, and solve complex problems.
- Experience in training and mentoring junior team members.
