Job Summary
The Credit Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in collecting overdue payments for charge accounts, credit card accounts, or loans from customers by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review delinquent account records to determine that customers are being effectively contacted for collection of overdue accounts.
- Monitor collection workload according to degree and amount of delinquency and assigns accounts to workers for collections.
- Authorize or refers accounts to Legal Accounts Manager for legal actions against debtors or third-party collectors.
- Assist with collection activities in difficult cases.
- Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Train credit and collection personnel.
- Responsible for verifying and processing release of liens.
- Authorize adjustments such as service charges and discounts on customer accounts.
- Build relationships with branch managers with reoccurring branch reviews to include quarterly in person reviews.

Minimum Qualifications
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to collection methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations relating to consumer credit.
- Knowledge of procedural and legal aspects of collections.
- Skill in evaluating information or situation and making judgments based on facts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong credit/collection background is required.
