- Description of Digital Energy Software Strategy
Digital Energy Software is a core business of the Energy Management Business of Schneider Electric, and focuses on innovation and technology across software and IoT platforms to improve operations, optimization, energy management, and security. It operates across multiple end markets and verticals to bring organizations into power, grids, and buildings of the future.
Strategy Function Activities:
- Group strategy cycle: Contribute to the annual strategic planning cycle.
- Inorganic Support: Help manage and identify acquisitions & divestments, strategic partnerships, and ventures. Build business cases, track KPIs and success of inorganic efforts, and support teams in alignment across software.
- Analyst Relations: Manage relationships with corporate AR teams, analyst and research firms, and leadership and SMEs. Build unified, consistent messaging, content, and data points to support building brand awareness and strength in the industry.
- Quarterly support: support the R&D strategy roadmap of the Division, support the Division quarterly business review preparation for the performance review with senior stakeholders
- Ad-hoc projects: deliver ad hoc strategy projects on transversal topics
You will be part of a global team that reports directly to the Vice President for Digital Energy SW Strategy. The Digital Energy Strategy Manager is a key role within the Division and has a global remit. They will be expected to help lead and execute key initiatives and projects that are vital to the success of the Division and the overall business. The role is exposed to multiple stakeholders across the organization and various parts of the division and of the Schneider Electric business overall.
To be successful in this role, candidates should feel comfortable:
- Working with the Vice President for Digital Energy SW Strategy to execute key initiatives and projects
- Acting as a key content lead and project lead for strategy studies
- Driving content, questions, analysis, story-telling, organization, cadence & pace
- Working hand-in-hand with internal and external stakeholders
- Participating in projects scoping for internal or external work, guides for interviews and conducting interviews
- Coordinating various stakeholders to deliver findings within agreed timelines
- Formulating key conclusions
- Applying business judgement and knowledge of Digital Energy solutions acquired over time, to devise feasible and actionable recommendations for profitable growth and transformation
- Preparing and presenting written and oral reports of findings to key stakeholders and leadership
- Develop, manage, and maintain excellent relationships within leadership and teams (Lines of Business, finance, commercial team, Building segment team) and the rest of Schneider Electric (Corporate Strategy and transversal strategy teams of other divisions) - at all levels of the organization - to ensure a One Schneider approach .
- Supervise and coach more junior staff members when required.

- Requirements for the role
- Good business acumen and judgment
- Strong organization and project management skills; structured way of working; ability to work under time pressure; Good attention to detail
- Prior experience in PMO role a plus
- Strong analytical skills: ability to screen and quickly absorb information on various topics from multiple sources and synthesize it to make meaningful recommendations
- Quantitative; comfortable working with numbers, building models and quantitative analyses
- Financially literate: able to review and interpret financial statements / reports
- Fast learning capacity and curiosity for learning about Schneider Electric Digital Energy businesses across Power, Grid, Building, and those of competitors, new business models and disruptors
- Resourceful, tenacious and self-starter attitude, interest to roll-up one sleeves and get things done
- Good interpersonal skills
- Open-mindedness, actively listens to others, understands and values others' views
- Ability to connect with people easily, to win buy-in for proposed recommendations
- High level of maturity: ability to liaise with counterparts from different parts of the organization, including senior executives

- Candidates qualifications
- Work experience: 8+ years of total previous work experience, including any (or multiple) of the following:
- Strategy or management consulting experience
- Internal strategy in industrial organizations
- Analyst Relations or Strategy Partnerships & Alliances
- 5+ years experience with industrial software
- Experience in private equity or other financial institutions is a plus
- Experience in Digital transformation in B2B or B2C environments is a plus.
- Education: strong educational background and solid GPA, coursework in finance, accounting, or MBA a plus
- Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English; Any other language is a plus
- Other: excellent MS PowerPoint and Excel skills, and presentation writing skills, experience in project management tools a plus

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 168,800 - USD 253,200 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
