Senior Training Specialist, Drives Specialty

The Drives Trainer is responsible for developing, updating and adapting existing training material focused on Low & Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drives and systems for distributor and internal sales teams, Offer managers, technical sales, product application engineers, and technical / commercial trainers.

This role ensures that the program Drives curriculum meets the needs of our user base and provides the appropriate knowledge and experience base. Learners should have the technical knowledge and commercial acumen needed to effectively position, select, size and sell, VFD solutions in various industrial segments and commercial applications. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between product expertise and sales execution, driving business growth through enhanced training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Deliver Training Programs: Design, implement, and conduct training sessions on Low & Medium Voltage VFDs and technical trainings on LV covering basic technical drives concepts, product portfolio, applications, and segments, where to play, sales strategies, competitive positioning, value propositions among others.
  • Target Audience: Train distributor and Schneider Electric teams like Industrial territory sales engineers, key account managers, End User Sales, OEM Sales, Area Drives Managers, Segment Mangers, tendering teams, offer mangers, technicians and ither trainers.
  • Training Formats: Provide training through in-person workshops, webinars, e-learning modules, videos. The use of virtual and realistic demo units will be required to guarantee the best learning experience.
  • Content Development: Create training materials, including presentations tailored to learner roles while making continuous improvements
  • Collect training feedback: Assess training effectiveness through feedback and knowledge retention evaluations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Offer Management and Sales teams to align training content with business priorities and market needs. Report training data to stakeholders.
  • Market Awareness : Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and technological advancements to ensure training remains relevant and impactful.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or related degrees
  • Proficient in English (Level C1)
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of VFD technology and motor control applications
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, training, or product management related to VFDs, motor control, applications and/or industrial automation
  • Codes & Standards: Be familiar with the NEC, IEEE519, CSA, UL and other applicable codes and standards as they pertain to motor control
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Strong ability to convey complex technical concepts in a simple, compelling way with a strong background in commercial training, sales enablement, or technical sales.
  • Sales Acumen: Experience selling or supporting sales of VFDs
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools


Travel Required: This role requires travel (approx. 20%) to various locations in the US.
