Senior Power Research Architect
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. graduate (recent or experienced) to join our R&D organization and help define the future of resilient, intelligent, and sustainable new electrical distribution systems. This role sits at the intersection of power electronics, energy infrastructure modernization, AI -enabled energy management , coordination & protection , grid i nteractions and resilience . The successful candidate will conduct advanced research, develop intellectual property, collaborate with universit y research institutes and industry partners, and translate breakthrough concepts into technologies that can be deployed in critical infrastructure, data centers, microgrids, industrial facilities, and new electric al distribution systems.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct original research and develop technology roadmaps for future energy systems.
- Partner with local college institutions for R&D projects
- Publish research findings in leading journals , conferences , and white papers .
- Invent, patent, prototype and support field deployment of innovative technologies.
- Build simulation models and experimental platforms.
- Collaborate with universit y research institutes , national laboratories, and industry partners.
- Translate research concepts into deployable products and solutions.
- Present technical findings to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to strategic research initiatives aligned with Schneider Electric's innovation agenda.
- Ensure alignment with Schneider Electric processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Contribute actively to development, sharing and capitalization of knowledge and know-how.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials , Systems and Controls Engineering or a related technical field. Candidates with less educational qualifications could be considered based on their level of proven expertise in the industry.
- Strong research record s demonstrated through publications, patents, or dissertation work.
- Knowledge in one or more of the following:
- Power electronics
- Power systems
- Microgrids
- Power c onver sion
- Power p rotection
- System & controls
- Grid integration
- Energy management systems
- Experience using various simulation tools (e.g. Matlab/Simulink, PSCAD) for power electronics circuit design and power system analysis.
- Familiarity with relevant IEEE, IEC, UL, NEMA, and NFPA standards is a plus .

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
