Senior Engineer I, Industrialization Quality

Industrial Quality Leader (IQL) - Job Description
Mission

• Drive quality excellence during industrialization to ensure on-time and flawless product launches
• Manage risks across parts, components, subassemblies, and manufacturing processes to achieve Quality targets
• Ensure robust deployment of 10 Quality Fundamentals and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
• Guarantee manufacturing process capability and readiness through structured quality validation
• Ensure effective transfer and deployment of quality deliverables (e.g., PPEP - Part Product Evaluation Plan) to suppliers and plants

Key Responsibilities
1. Industrialization Quality Leadership

• Act as Industrial Quality Leader in OCP projects, accountable for achieving quality targets during new product introduction
• Implement and validate the 10 Quality Fundamentals across all industrialization phases
• Ensure compliance with Offer Lifecycle Management (OLM) standards

2. Quality Planning & Execution

• Build and deploy Industrialization Quality Plans covering parts, components, subassemblies, and processes
• Lead APQP deployment to ensure structured product and process development
• Ensure readiness for pre-series and product launch through robust validation activities

3. Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

• Drive Process FMEA and ensure closure of identified risks
• Apply quality methodologies such as FMEA, 8D, DOE, MSA (CAMC) to ensure process robustness
• Identify and mitigate quality risks across the entire product lifecycle

4. Supplier Quality & PPEP Management

• Lead PPEP to evaluate and validate supplier manufacturing capability
• Challenge suppliers to meet Schneider Electric quality standards
• Communicate quality expectations and provide training/coaching when necessary
• Ensure suppliers deliver consistent and capable quality performance

5. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with China R&D Center, Product Engineering, Squads, and SMEs
• Guide teams on quality tools, methodologies, and decision-making in complex situations
• Ensure alignment between engineering, manufacturing, and quality stakeholders

6. Process Validation & Measurement

• Participate in equipment qualification and process validation
• Ensure strong application of Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
• Support gauge development and validation for mechanical parts

Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills

• APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) - intermediate level
• Industrialization Quality Preparation & Launch - intermediate level
• Quality Management Systems (QMS) - developing level
• Risk Management - intermediate level
• Strong knowledge of mechanical part validation & measurement methodologies

Professional Skills

• Project Management - managing cross-functional teams and timelines
• Communication - effective coordination with stakeholders and suppliers
• Strategic Thinking - aligning quality initiatives with business goals
• Coaching & Leadership - guiding teams through non-routine quality challenges

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electromechanical preferred)
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in quality or advanced manufacturing
• Strong expertise in quality methodologies (FMEA, 8D, DOE, MSA)
• Proven experience in project leadership roles
• Experience in supplier quality and industrialization processes
• Knowledge of gauge development is a plus
• Fluent in Chinese and English
• Proficient in standard computer tools
