Position Summary



The HR Data Governance & Automation function manages the development and governance of the HR data and information strategy to facilitate business decisions and foster growth across the East Asia & Pacific region, encompassing 15 countries and approximately ~15,500 employees in total.

Overall, the function is responsible for:

  • Designing & Implementing an HR Data Strategy and Projects;
  • HR Data Governance and Quality Assurance;
  • Data Management;
  • Business Intelligence; and
  • Analytics

The HR Data & Analytics Intern will support the HR Digital & Data team in maintaining data quality, assisting with reporting, and contributing to automation initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in HR data governance and business intelligence within a global organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in data quality checks and validation across HR systems (TalentLink, HRIS, Payroll).
  • Support data cleanup activities and help resolve discrepancies.
  • Work with MS SQL Server to:
    • Run queries for data extraction and validation
    • Assist in troubleshooting data issues and preparing datasets for reporting
  • Develop and maintain basic SSRS reports under guidance, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
  • Help automate manual processes by documenting workflows and testing solutions
  • Create and maintain system documentation for processes, data flows, and reporting standards
  • Assist in process mapping to identify improvement opportunities and support automation initiatives
  • Collaborate with HR teams to collect and organize data for audits and compliance
  • Contribute to data preparation for analytics projects and vendor reporting

Learning Opportunities

Education and Qualification Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field

Required Skills

Essential:
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and Excel (pivot tables, formulas)
  • Interest in data analytics and HR processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team

Desirable:
  • Familiarity with SSRS or other BI tools (SSRS, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Understanding of data privacy and compliance concepts
