Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for the Electrical/Electronics hardware design across multiple projects. Manages a functional team/cross functional team of up to 15 members
1. Architect, analyze, identify root cause and generate alternate solutions across multiple projects and platforms
2. Drive multiple project team activities, work and resource prioritization, accountability for the teams, set work goals for the functional/cross functional teams.
3. Estimate and manage the work effort for the team while interacting and coordinating with the other stake holders
4. Document, present and manage all the communications for multiple projects with all the stakeholders
5. Manage conflicts within the project teams and other stake holders
6. Take calculated risks, demonstrate creativity and contribute to IP
7. Set goals, mentor and provide pro active assistance to the team members
8. Embrace change, actively pursue the change. Influence others to adapt to the change & contribute on change Management.
9. Contribute on the Continuous process improvement.
10. Support and deploy Management initiatives

Develop custom design solutions for all Battery Management system (BMS) and Energy Storage (various chemistry smart batteries) projects.

Provide thought leadership for upcoming battery technologies and their incorporation in new products. Be on top of regulatory requirements to make sure designs meet the required regulatory requirements.

Lead a team of Electrical & Embedded System Engineers. Form Electrical & Firmware specifications; provide required technical leadership and direction in design of system architecture, development of firmware code, control system design and communication protocol for new products under NPD & continuous Improvement (CI) programs. Lead all FMEA & WCA analysis. Good understanding of circuit simulation tools such as SPICE, Mathcad etc.

Reuirement

  • Hands on experience of working live with HV systems (>400V). Experience in various battery chemistries like Lead Acid, Li-ion, Lithium-polymer batteries, system performance and safety requirements. Experience in developing BMS algorithms on hardware BMS platforms or embedded MCUs.
  • Interface with hardware peripherals and implement various communication protocols. Develop BMS firmware algorithm, such as state of charge (SOC) estimation, internal resistance estimation, lifetime prediction, and state of health (SOH) Working knowledge of mission and safety-critical features like charge control, thermal control, fault detection, and diagnostics for battery and energy products Experienced in development of battery products for certification including UL1973/IEC62619/IEC 60730, etc.
  • Knowledge of Battery modelling, simulation, and test validation
  • Proven experience in developing any BMS for energy storage/EV applications
    • Knowledge of Regulatory requirements for Li-ion batteries for Energy storage applications
    Knowledge of PCB layout constraints for high frequency design
    Knowledge of Analog Front End circuit design for Li-ion batteries
    • Knowledge and demonstrated experience using Software analysis tools (for example P-spice, Matlab, Mathcad)
    • Experience and strong design knowledge of Digital circuit design, Analog circuit design, ADC, DACs, OPamps, micro processors, micro controllers & DSPs etc
