Engineer II, Security Systems Design
Join our technical delivery team as a Security Systems Design Engineer 2. You'll work on diverse projects designing physical security and IT systems that enable buildings of the future to be safe and secure. Based in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, and the neighboring New York City area, you'll be at the heart of innovation. Are you ready to make an impact?
Take the lead as the technical expert on projects, independently developing high-quality engineering designs for integrated security systems per specifications, standards, budgets, and schedules, leading project coordination through design, installation and commissioning phases by collaborating with customers, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
What do you get to do in this role?
- Create detailed hardware design drawing packages, using Autodesk AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio, capturing all information needed to deploy systems
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the design phase to resolve issues affecting system functionality, configuration, constructability, and overall project requirements
- Review project plans and specifications, contracts, budgets, and proposals to understand project scope and participate in the creation and execution of a project deliverable plan
- Lead construction coordination efforts through RFIs, meetings, site visits, and stakeholder communications to proactively resolve issues impacting the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems within project scope.
- Analyze change of scope documents and put together change order cost estimates
- Conduct site surveys and construction walkthroughs to assess project progress, document findings, identify discrepancies and coordination issues, and work with subcontractors and other trades to maintain project schedules and support successful installation and commissioning activities.
- Partner with project managers throughout the project lifecycle to deliver excellence in project execution
- Team up with the field engineers to drive projects to successful completion by in the lead technical expert role, assisting with project coordination, material procurement, and on-site commissioning
- Team up with the IT engineers to pre-configure and deploy hardware, software and network equipment
- Deploy Lenel, Genetec, Amag and various other security systems as a factory certified engineer (having some current certifications is a plus)

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Bachelor's or technical degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or similar technical field
- Local to Lyndhurst, New Jersey or New York City, New York area
- Hands-on experience with basic electrical circuits and/or various digital systems
- You have 2-4 years of experience in the physical security industry

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 86,400 - USD 129,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
