Commissioning Engineer for UPS

Are you passionate about critical power, data centers and hands-on technical problem solving?

We are looking for a UPS Commissioning Engineer to support Schneider Electric customers and projects across Europe. In this dynamic role, you will be the go-to expert for on-site services related to UPS and Secure Power installations, including commissioning, technical diagnostics, installation supervision, troubleshooting and customer support.

You will play a key role in complex and critical Secure Power projects, working with systems such as UPS units, Battery Cabinets and Transfer Switches. Your focus will be on ensuring smooth operations, high-quality technical delivery and strong customer satisfaction.

This position requires international travel for 70% of working time.

The role primarily focuses on complex and critical projects in the field of Secure Power installations, including UPS, Battery Cabinets and Transfer Switches.

Main responsibilities

  • Perform startup and commissioning on equipment across the Secure Power / UPS product range
  • Evaluate unit installation, including quality of connections, assembly and readiness for start-up
  • Evaluate system installation and operational conditions
  • Perform onsite adjustments to bring units to optimal running conditions
  • Support customers in the installation, modification and repair of UPS products
  • Identify whether failures are related to quality issues, software issues or operational conditions through root cause analysis
  • Work with other Schneider Electric service engineers and partners during site interventions
  • Interact with L3 support to solve technical issues on site
  • Provide training to Schneider Electric customers on equipment operation
  • Interact with customers on site or remotely regarding the level and type of support required
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for UPS products and systems

About you
  • Strong understanding of UPS principles and electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently with general guidance and clear overall objectives
  • Strong commitment to safety policies, practices, procedures and standards
  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret technical procedures, professional documents and regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel internationally for approximately 70% of working time, and sometimes more

Education and experience
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Around 5 years' experience with commissioning or field service repair within Secure Power
  • Confirmed experience with Secure Power installations, such as UPS, Battery Cabinets and Transfer Switches
  • Experience with installation and commissioning in data center environments is a strong advantage
  • Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and repairing electronic circuitry on component level is an advantage
  • Fluent communication skills in English, minimum B2 level
  • Flexible, reliable and customer-focused mindset
  • Strong attention to technical details
  • Team player with leadership capability
  • Good software tool literacy, including AutoCAD, MS Office and Acrobat
