Cloud Engineer
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $114,400 - $171,600 per year, which
includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United
States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within
the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a

What you'll do
Own and evolve our cloud‑based data platform infrastructure end‑to‑end. You'll administer and harden servers, build automated CI/CD pipelines, operationalize data workflows, and enforce configuration‑as‑code practices. You'll partner with Product, SRE/Platform, Security, and Data teams to deliver resilient services and frictionless deployments across environments.
Roles & Responsibilities
Platform & Server Administration
- Administer Linux/Windows servers (on‑prem, VMs, and cloud IaaS): patching, backup/restore, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and monitoring.
- Manage core networking (DNS, TLS, routing, firewalls, load balancers, ingress/egress) in AWS environments.
- Enforce security baselines: hardening, vulnerability remediation, least‑privilege access, and key/secret rotation.
Automation & CI/CD
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for applications, infrastructure, and data workloads (build, test, release, rollback).
- Codify infrastructure and configuration using Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices.
- Automate routine ops (patching, certificate management, image baking, drift detection, and incident troubleshooting).
Configuration Management & Release Engineering
- Define and enforce configuration standards, versioning, and change control across apps, services, and data jobs.
- Build configuration‑as‑code modules, templates, and policies to ensure consistency and traceability.
- Maintain artifact repositories and package management; implement release strategies and environment promotion with automated drift detection and remediation.
Application & Data Platform Enablement
- Enable deployment and integration of tools that support data management/governance and developer experience.
- Collaborate with Data Governance and PMO counterparts to align delivery with process and compliance standards.
Security & Observability
- Drive identity, secrets, certificates, vulnerability management, and audit readiness.
- Establish logging, metrics, and tracing for system reliability and performance visibility.
Qualifications
Required
- 5-8+ years in Systems/DevOps/SRE/Data Engineering with hands‑on ownership of production environments.
- Strong Linux/Windows administration and scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python); performance tuning experience.
- Expertise in CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions, JFrog Artifactory, Coverity) and IaC (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation).
- Deep knowledge of AWS core services (compute, networking, storage, identity).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Experience with Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE), Helm, and service mesh (Istio/Linkerd).
- Understanding of policy‑as‑code (OPA/Conftest), compliance frameworks (CIS/NIST/ISO), and threat modeling.
- Background in data governance (catalogs, lineage, RBAC/ABAC), dbt, and data observability tooling.
- Experience with performance engineering, cloud cost optimization, and SRE practices (SLOs/SLIs).
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Master's degree or cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Strong presentation and communication skills; ability to collaborate with globally dispersed stakeholders and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
