Paperless Post is seeking a creative and strategic Copywriter to join our growing Brand Marketing team to support SEO, growth, and product marketing efforts. This role will collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and product managers to carry out the voice of our brand and execute all copywriting tasks, bringing our brand to life with words. From blog posts and YouTube scripts to email and UX copy, you’ll communicate the value of our platform, make our product more discoverable, and inspire our users to host creatively and confidently.
The ideal candidate can inhabit an experienced and instructional but fun-loving voice that helps our users create memorable events. You can spot a misplaced comma from a mile away and understand that real estate is precious and each character counts. This role will work alongside our Copy team of full-time employees and freelancers to help us tell a cohesive story across all of our marketing channels, and will initially report to the Director of Brand Marketing and Communications until we build out the rest of the copy function. We expect reporting to shift in late fall.

What You’ll Do Here
- Write copy for all blog posts, both SEO and brand-driven, as well as email, on-site, YouTube scripts, paid ads, and social media (in partnership with our Senior Social Media Specialist)
- Translate product features and attributes into user-facing messaging in product marketing that clearly and concisely communicates the benefits of our product
- Have a strong command of the Paperless Post brand voice—one that is confident, positive, and witty
- Easily oscillate between witty brand copy and informational/instructional copy while maintaining a consistent, on-brand tone
- Be aware of how nuances in copy inform and engage users
- Delight and inspire our party-planning users
- Partner with the marketing team, including designers, and other stakeholders to create compelling communication that is more than the sum of its parts
- Support other copywriting tasks across the company, as needed
Must Haves:
- 2-4 years of experience writing engaging, consumer-facing copy for a digital brand, preferably in the retail or lifestyle space
- The ability to write SEO-driven blog posts and YouTube scripts, and to adapt and abbreviate this content when appropriate for TikTok
- Experience writing punchy copy with a wide range of inclusive cultural references, especially headlines, captions, and subject lines
- The ability to write both Instagram and user interaction copy, and an understanding of how those are different
- Scrupulous proofreading and copyediting skills, as well as fantastic grammar and a love of words
- The ability to confidently juggle multiple projects at once and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Comfort with adapting to feedback/changes in strategy
- A genuine interest in entertaining, parties, and the ways that people gather

The compensation range for this role is $73,500 - $85,000 USD.
At Paperless Post, compensation is based on a number of factors, including geographic location, job-related skills, years of experience, and internal team banding. All full-time offer packages come with a base salary, equity component, and options for fully paid medical, dental, and vision benefits.The range posted here is based on the NYC market and may vary based on candidate location.
