Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Semiconductor Materials group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Associate Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer/ Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer in materials characterization lab for our Space Park Foundry (SPF). Located in Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles, we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman's SPF semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, and Indium Phosphide) and providing leading edge technology development in electronics. Core responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

Support measurement and analysis of semiconductor epitaxial wafers using x-ray, atomic force microscopy, photoluminescence, and other techniques.

Support monitoring of the wafer measurement queue, coordinate priorities, and initiate characterization lot starts for the D1 foundry.

Support collaboration with device and product engineers to troubleshoot material issues.

Collaborate with vendors to exchange technical information and provide direction on material performance and quality requirements.

Work with material growth engineers to promote materials from R&D stage to production within the semiconductor materials department.

Inspect and accept/reject epitaxial wafers supplied by vendors.

Work with external vendors and Microelectronics programs to obtain quotes, place and track orders, receive, and inspect all incoming substrates for GaN development and production portfolios.

Coordinate with vendors, buyers, and production control to resolve delivery issues.

Candidate will join an R&D and production team working closely with multiple programs and task managers to support on-time delivery of products derived from a variety of III-V compound semiconductor technologies. As an Associate Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer/ Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer you will interface with both peers and representatives from operations, equipment engineering, and vendors.
This requisition may be filled as either an Associate Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer OR Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for Associate Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer:
- Must have Bachelor's degree in STEM and 0 YOE
- Must have general MS Office suite experience
- Understanding of semiconductor materials proprieties
- US Citizenship is required

Basic Qualifications for Microelectronics Semiconductor Engineer:
- Must have Bachelor's degree in STEM or related discipline with 2 yrs. semiconductor fabrication experience OR a Master's degree in STEM or related discipline with no experience.
- Must have general MS Office suite experience
- Understanding of semiconductor materials proprieties
- US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:
-Solid State Physics or other relevant engineering/physical science disciplines.
-Semiconductor manufacturing experience
Primary Level Salary Range: $76,200.00 - $114,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
