We're seeking someone to join our team as a Java Software Engineer in Firm Risk Management Department, who is fully hands on and will play a key role in implementation of the strategic initiative to modernize Market Risk platform at the same time handling BAU request and active participation on production support.

This is a Java Software Engineer position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for a function, complex project tasks and other initiatives.

What you'll do in the role:
- Contribute to the function through complex project tasks and initiatives.
- Interact regularly with team members located in different regions and occasionally with leadership on a range of topics.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and direction.
- Architect solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
- Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project roadmap and technical strategy.
- Implement and advocate for best practices in software engineering and design patterns.
- Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies.
- Maintain and enhance existing software applications to optimize performance and functionality.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Java, Spring, RDBMS.
- Strong object oriented design and development skills, data-structures and algorithms, and design patterns.
- Excellent analytical ability.
- Strong experience with relational databases logical modelling.
- Strength in querying large relational databases in an optimized manner.
- A culture of incorporating unit test cases when designing systems using Junit.
- Ability to write scripts in Shell/Python.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills. The candidate will work in a global team where clear and concise communication skills are a must.
- Work independently following proper coding standards.
- Exposure to leveraging AI agents and automation tools across software development, validation, and production deployment.
