Engineering Manager (Intune & macOS Device Management)

The Role

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage and develop the Intune and macOS engineering teams, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Lead global teams across multiple geographies and time zones, not limited to local office-based management.
  • Define and drive the roadmap for device management services in alignment with enterprise priorities.
  • Promote best practices in automation, zero-touch provisioning, and user experience.

Technical & Operational Oversight

  • Oversee the design and implementation of Intune device policies, compliance standards, and Conditional Access.
  • Oversee JAMF Pro operations including macOS baselines, enrollment, and integration with identity/security platforms.
  • Ensure security integration with Microsoft Defender, Apple frameworks, and compliance requirements.
  • Handle escalations and provide guidance on complex technical issues.
  • Ensure all environments supported are enterprise-scale (>10,000 endpoints).
  • Drive automation and remediation via scripting (PowerShell required).

Governance & Collaboration

  • Ensure device management practices meet global IT and security standards.
  • Partner with asset management, procurement, and finance teams to support lifecycle planning, cost allocation, and demand forecasting.
  • Maintain consistent documentation, processes, and governance across teams.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the main point of contact for senior stakeholders regarding device management services.
  • Work closely with IT operations, cybersecurity, and vendors to ensure service delivery and stability.
  • Be available outside standard business hours as required, recognizing that this is not a strict 8-5 role.

Who You Are

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise endpoint/device management, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong technical background in Microsoft Intune (Autopilot, compliance, Conditional Access, Defender integration) and macOS/JAMF (policy management, automation, Apple Business Manager integration).
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-scale environments (>10,000 endpoints).
  • Hands-on expertise in automation and diagnostics using PowerShell.
  • Experience leading distributed/global technical teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance technical priorities, user needs, and cost management.

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102)
  • JAMF Certified Admin or Expert (JAMF 300 or higher)
  • ITIL v4 Foundation
