As a Software Engineer III - SmallTalk Developer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Markets Technology Team, you'll serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for design, development, testing and implementation of Rates Risk and PnL related tasks.
  • Directly contribute to the development of the technology roadmap.
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code in SmallTalk and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills :

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands - on software engineering experience through all phases of software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in developing, debugging and maintaining code in an enterprise environment with SmallTalk programming language
  • Excellent coding, automated unit testing, refactoring, OO design.
  • Technical expertise in SmallTalk.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders.
  • Should be able to work in a very Agile environment.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills :

  • High level of energy and can work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Strategic thinker; makes appropriate business decisions and gains cooperation of others.
  • Having Python knowledge is preferable.
