J.P. Morgan's Investment Banking Healthcare Coverage Group provides a full range of investment banking services to numerous clients based across the EMEA region. Its clients include many of the world's leading firms in their respective industries. The Group's primary focus is on delivering creative solutions to clients for mergers and acquisitions and equity and debt capital raising.

As an Associate in the Investment Banking EMEA Healthcare team, you will be a key player in our business strategy and execution. You will participate in the \"full cycle\" of transactional execution including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial models and analysis, preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations. You will play a leadership role in implementing the execution function including working with other analysts and associates, as well as collaborating closely with senior bankers. You will also have plenty of opportunities to partner with other bankers from the group as well as colleagues from other industry and product teams across EMEA and globally. Job responsibilities

  • Project co-ordination, including client communication, co-ordination of advisory team externally and within the bank
  • Develop content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A or capital market transactions
  • Conduct detailed Real Estate valuation analysis and other financial analysis, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, LBO analysis and transaction structuring
  • Prepare presentation books, management presentations, Board materials, Memorandums, and other presentation materials for use in corporate finance transactions or strategic client dialogue
  • Conduct daily deal execution and project management and take leadership in supporting client coverage by maintaining regular dialogue with clients and potential clients
  • Interact with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
  • Liaise with J.P. Morgan product teams and global sector teams along with UK equities and research departments

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Prior investment banking experience specifically in a Healthcare coverage role (deal experience in Biotech&Pharma vertical will be a competitive advantage)
  • Proficient financial modelling / valuation / analytical / numeracy skills
  • Ability to react well to pressure whilst multitasking on numerous projects
  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients in a professional and mature manner
  • High level of attention to detail, proactivity and time management
  • Comfort in and commitment to an inclusive teamwork environment
  • Ability to comfortably interact with people in a professional and mature manner
  • Highly organised, detail oriented and proactive
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity

This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
