J.P. Morgan's Wholesale Banking business (Corporate & Investment Bank and Commercial Bank) is a global leader across banking, markets and investor services. Wholesale Credit Risk assesses, permissions, and manages credit and counterparty risks on an industry, client, geographic, and transaction basis. The teams are generally organized by industry and work closely with coverage and product groups to support business needs. The Analyst will utilize their analytical skills, combined with credit and industry knowledge, to make and support credit recommendations for a portfolio of clients. The current open position is working with a portfolio of municipal governments, not-for-profit healthcare and higher education organizations located in the United States.

Specifically, as a Credit Risk Analyst in Wholesale Credit Risk you will:

  • Conduct credit analysis and help deal teams seek approval for lending and trading related transactions, including operating exposures, individually or as part of a deal team
  • Create written credit approval documents, which include the spreading and presentation of historical financial statement information and the related financial analysis
  • Develop a well-informed and forward-looking view of the business, financial and competitive risks associated for an organization and its sector and assess its risk ratings
  • Take ownership of special projects and provide creative suggestions to enhance output
  • Help drive and support innovation and continuous efficiency improvements

Candidates should possess:

  • BA/BAA degree required.
  • Academic training in the principals of accounting, corporate finance capital markets products, and macro economics
  • Some credit/underwriting credentials, analytical skills, and experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical and financial assessment ability
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication, along with strong inter-personal skills
  • An exceptional work ethic
  • Highly motivated with a natural passion to learn and an inquisitive personality
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Capable of understanding, describing, and debating complex concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
