Job Summary:
As an Applications Support Engineer within the Securities Services technology group at JPMorganChase, you will support technology solutions for various products within Securities Services. You will play a key role in maintaining both in-house built and vendor applications across traditional distributed architectures and modern cloud architectures. Collaborate with APAC lines of business and wider technology teams to drive resolution across the Securities Services technology stack, providing direct technology support to business and operations teams in Manila and across APAC.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide business-facing technology support to business and operations groups across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Collaborate within a follow-the-sun support model with global counterparts.
  • Develop and support automation tooling to improve platform reliability and team productivity.
  • Manage production technology incidents to resolution, ensuring timely engagement, escalation, and effective communication to business, technology, and vendor partners.
  • Perform post-incident analysis, identifying, tracking, and implementing preventative measures.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key applications, maintaining global best practice and hygiene standards.
  • Contribute to the development of tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve productivity and quality of production support, adopting SRE principles.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in technology for the financial and banking sector.
  • Graduate diploma or degree in computer science.
  • Functional and technical skills in trade life cycle to settlement, position management, valuation, asset servicing.
  • Support management skills: design and use monitoring dashboards, generate service KPIs, reports on service stability and performance, log & message bus monitoring (Splunk, ELK, Geneos, AppDynamics, DynaTrace).
  • Proven track record in incident & problem management, performing post-incident analysis, and implementing preventative measures.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience supporting Linux and RDBMS-based applications.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Linux/UNIX shell.
  • Database experience with Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, Casandra, Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with telemetry & application performance monitoring tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, ITRS Geneos).
  • Experience with schedulers like Control-M / Autosys.
  • AWS experience & certification, including core AWS services (EC2, S3, EKS, RDS, Cloudwatch & DataDog).
