As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase on the Self-Directed Investing Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Regularly leads and mentor a team of mobile application and full-stack developers, fostering collaboration and growth.
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Experience leading mobile technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Hands-on practical experience in one or more mobile application development environments, Android
- Advanced in Jetpack Compose, Java, Kotlin, Android Studio. Experience writing unit tests using JUnit or Kotest or any modern framework
- Experience working with Multimodule code using CLEAN architecture. Experience with the MVVM and MVP design pattern and other relevant architecture patterns. Experience with Dependency injection pattern using Dagger or any other framework.
- Experience with best practices in mobile design (UI design guidelines, Multi-threading, Asynchronous operations etc)
- Good knowledge of core Android libraries and frameworks like Compose, Coroutines, Flows, RxJava, Retrofit, Security.
- Experience of Java/J2ee, Spring, Springboot, building REST web services @ internet scale
- Experience on cloud engineering including AWS, Kubernetes. Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Practical cloud native experience and mobile application deployment
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Web application development experiences. Experience with modularization and dependency injection.
- Appreciation for Accessibility and understanding of how to meet Accessibility requirements
- Understanding of Mobile Application Security considerations
- Experience with React Native with feature flagging and A/B testing methodologies
