Sr.Resident Solutions Engineer

Your role and responsibilities
About the Role
The Resident Solutions Engineer (RSE) combines automation, infrastructure management, and reliability practices to ensure efficient software delivery and system stability. They develop CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, monitor system health, optimize performance, and implement security and compliance measures. Their goal is to enhance deployment speed, resilience, and operational efficiency while minimizing downtime and incidents.
The RSE role has proven instrumental in accelerating time-to-value for HashiCorp customers, guiding organizations through multidimensional challenges, and enabling innovation with scalable, cutting-edge solutions.

- Build infrastructure provisioning pipelines using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Packer.
- Build change management pipelines for validating adjustments to service configurations.
- Build self-service onboarding processes to standardize and simplify consumption of the central platform and its associated components.
- Tune service and infrastructure performance based on observability data.
- Build Proof of Value (PoV) environments to showcase the integrated capabilities of IBM software to customers.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, sharing insights and recommendations with both internal and customer audiences.
- Build robust service and platform monitoring that provides insight into key performance metrics, as well as user experience data, to inform improvements to the central platform and its associated components.
- Track changes in consumption data to inform business value conversations with customer stakeholders.
- Build executive reporting dashboards to inform technical strategy discussions at the Resident Solutions Architect (RSA) or Field CTO (FCTO) level.
- Incorporate security and compliance best practices into the implementation of IBM software through the appropriate configuration of policy mechanisms.
- Inform and enable incident response teams on key metrics associated with security and compliance events.
Required education
None
Required technical and professional expertise
- 6 years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or related technical roles.
- Experience developing and deploying pipelines in GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, or similar.
- Experience building custom monitoring dashboards using Splunk, Prometheus/Grafana, etc.
- A proven track record of assisting with or leading cloud transformation at one or more organizations
- Familiarity with cloud service providers and their offerings, common technical platforms, and shared service management at scale.
- The ability to work independently, executing on a provided roadmap.
- The ability to explain complex technical topics in simple terms.
- Japanese professional proficiency is a must. (N2 level minimum)
- Basic English proficiency is a must, professional level proficiency is a plus.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Working proficiency with one or more of the tools in the HashiCorp product suite is a plus.
- Experience as a technical lead on a platform engineering/SRE team is a plus.
- Cloud certifications are a plus.
